Sam had talked to the owner “Jim” and agreed they would take care of it. Sam not only promptly responded assuring me he/they had NO idea that issue was there which I completely believed (yes he is that honest and straightforward). I immediately snapped a few pics and sent an email to Sam. However upon retuning home I was coming down the stairs in my oversized garage and much to my shock I noticed a few flaws on the roof which was an issue for me. Well, the next day I pick up the Navigator take it straight home and put it in the garage and went away for several day in my new Excursion which ran great!! From the looks of the cars at Jims I could see they are in top notch condition. Since the car was virtually new I didn’t really need to inspect it as I probably should have. He said we will take my offer and I bought a second car on the spot. However, as he was turning over the Excursion to me we talked about the Navigator, which was basically new and I would need to Finance to buy it. I returned the next day to buy the Excursion. Left an hour later NO pressure emailed Sam an offer that evening for BOTH cars he could pick which one to accept. Sam was gone for the day but another NO pressure salesperson assisted me at which time I noticed a unique Navigator parked right next to the Excursion which I took for a test drive. I have nothing but gratitude for everyone at Uftring, and if you find yourself with car troubles in Peoria, I cannot recommend them highly enough.Īmazing service!! Quick and easy and HONEST! I was emailing with Sam about an Excursion I was finally able to check out on Sunday June 9. As a human, this was one of those experiences that gives you a more positive outlook on the world - one of those "strangers helping strangers" stories. As a broke law student, this meant everything. They heard my issue, started working on it immediately, resolved it quickly, and then charged nothing for quite literally saving me. The mechanics at Uftring said there was no bill! I was floored at the generosity of the Uftring employees. I went back inside and asked for the charges. I got back into my car, ready to get back on my way to Virginia, when I realized that I had not received a bill for their work. They quickly discovered what was wrong and got my car into working condition within an hour. Several mechanics (Bruce, and a few others whose names I have forgotten) started working on it immediately (again, I had no appointment!). They immediately began evaluating my car. I relayed my personal crisis to the employees at Uftring. I had never been to Peoria, knew nobody within an 8-hour drive of the area, had no appointment with Uftring, and was desperate to get my car working ASAP. I needed get to Virginia before law school started and was panicked that I wouldn't be able to make it in time. I was incredibly stressed out and worried that I would be stuck in Peoria for days without a working car. I stopped at Uftring Ford hoping that they would be able to diagnose and fix the problem. My Ford Focus began making horrifically loud noises as I crossed Iowa and drove through Illinois. Two days ago I was driving from Nebraska to Virginia.

But the parts situation does not sit well with me and was the reason I sold it. Certain parts are unavailable.ĭespite this, I sold it reluctantly and often get the urge to buy another one. In spite of an excellent after market company providing some parts, this car falls into the obsolete zone. They cleaned it, modified the fuel delivery hose and all was well again. It took them six weeks to find a replacement from a written off Lincoln LS as there were no longer fuel tanks available for the car.

Ford tried several times to make the engine trouble light go off until they discovered cracked fuel tank where it is hidden by the bodywork. It needed an new A/C assembly at 20,000 miles but the real issues began with poor performance due to fuel issues. It was a comfortable touring coupe with adequate performance and a penchant for eating plug ignition assemblies.

The silver beauty was mine until a year ago and I put a mere 25,000 miles on it in that time.
